President-Alan Crafton

     Alan Crafton, President of Crafton Communications, Inc. and The Crafton Group Company, has been in telecommunications for 19 years. Since 1988, he has provided real estate site acquisition and consulting services throughout the Southeast. In 1998 Alan founded Crafton Communications in Birmingham, AL, a company providing full-service real estate site acquisition and tower construction services for telecommunications throughout the Southeast and Southwest.

     Alan received his business degree from The University of Alabama in 1984. He later acquired his CCIM designation, the highest designation in commercial real estate. Beginning in Atlanta, GA, Alan acquired sites in the Atlanta metropolitan area.  In 1996, Alan relocated to Birmingham, AL where he acquired sites under Crafton Properties. Since his relocation to Birmingham, Alan formed Crafton Communications under The Crafton Group Company and has expanded his company into the telecommunications and civil construction industries, owning Crafton Communications, Inc. and Excelsior Construction, Inc.

   

 

Vice President-Alston Noah

     Alston Noah's extensive background includes 22 years in technology. Alston was Chairman and CEO for EVault delivering Data Protection and Recovery Solutions for the Small to Medium Businesses. During his tenure with EVault, he raised over $20 million in equity and grew revenue from $1.5 million to $20 million annually. Prior to joining EVault, he was Vice President of CSC Enterprise Solutions. His overall responsibilities included sales and marketing, corporate development, and consulting services. Alston was directly involved in managing the consulting services for human resources, financial, manufacturing, and distribution. He was Practice Director for Enterprise Solutions consisting of SAP, Oracle, and PeopleSoft.

     Alston co-founded The Pinnacle Group in 1989. Beginning as the only consultant within the company, he traveled to various organizations, implementing and customizing human resource applications developing offices in North America, France and the UK. The Pinnacle Group was selected for the Inc. 500 Ranking of the Fastest-Growing Private Companies in America in 1994, 1995, 1996 and 1997. CSC acquired the Pinnacle Group in 1997.

     Alston earned a BS in Computer Science from The University of Alabama. Since his coming to Crafton, the company has experienced extensive growth as Alston works with financial analysis, business development and corporate expansion.

 

 

Directors of Operations

M. David Prejean: Director of Operations-Southwest Region

    David joined Crafton Communications in 1998 opening the company’s regional office in Dallas, Texas.  David manages site acquisition, regulatory issues and property services for national carriers and vendors such as Cingular, Sprint PCS, Ericsson, Bechtel, and MetroPCS in the Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas and New Mexico markets.  Under David’s direction, Crafton has become a leader in major new site build and equipment upgrade/modification projects in the southwest region.

     David has been a licensed real estate broker in Texas since 1983.  Prior to joining Crafton, David was the principal of Prejean Real Estate, a residential and commercial brokerage and development company based in Tyler, Texas that focused on single family development/sales and commercial office and clinic development for the local medical community.

   

Kevin Harris: Director of Operations-Birmingham, AL Office

     Kevin serves as Director of Operations for our corporate office in Birmingham, AL.  Since joining the Crafton Team in 1999, Kevin has successfully managed the acquisition of 700+ sites, providing real estate, regulatory and project management services for clients such as Cingular, Nextel, Bechtel, Lucent, MacTec, NSORO, Crown Castle and Spectrasite. He oversees all projects for the Birmingham office and manages each one from start-to-finish. Kevin's attention to clients’ needs and commitment to project success have allowed him to successfully zone/permit over 99% of his sites.

     Kevin has also served as Treasurer of the Alabama Wireless Association since its inception in 2003, as well as Director of the AWA Annual Golf Tournament, a fundraising tournament for The Bell Center for Early Intervention Programs.

   

Kathy Heaton: Director of Operations-Huntsville, AL Office  

     Kathy joined Crafton in 2003, serving as the Director of Operations for our Huntsville, AL office. She has successfully managed approximately 150 Nextel Partners project sites, and provides site acquisition project management for other major wireless telecommunications carriers throughout the Southeast.  Kathy’s Generator Deployment Project Management includes site acquisition activities, construction management, and financial management of a northern Florida project including approximately 136 facilities for a major wireless telecommunications carrier. She also manages our 33 Site Consolidation Project in northern Florida for the national carrier.

     Prior to telecommunications, Kathy has 18 years of corporate banking experience working for Bank of America and First Union (Wachovia), managing corporate real estate site acquisitions, dispositions, property management and regulatory compliance.  In 1997 she entered telecommunications, working first for Verizon as a Regional Real Estate Manager, and later with TowerCom as a Site Development Director.
